Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Donation

Thank you for your kind donations from the Bruce Robinson rally for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance

Chris Smith 12 Car – St Barnabas

Attached is the acknowledgement letter from St Barnabas Hospice thanking us for the £130 donation from the Chris Smith memorial 12 car held on 9th January.

For our newer members Chris Smith was one of our rallying members, a 12 car organiser and a Clerk of the course for our all night road rally, “The Hartford Motors Barnard Rally” when he deposited a Hartford Sierra course car in a dyke near Salmonby, on a road we often now use on the “Bruce”.

At a relatively young age Chris had to spend his final days in St Barnabas Hospice and his family and friends donated a Trophy to the Club in his memory.  The first event in 1992 was organised by his very good friends Phil Hancock and Gary Dixon and with a full entry raised £140 for the charity.

The 2019 event with 9 entries raised £130 in its 27th year and so far we have raised £1,890.00 for St Barnabas in memory of Chris.   Some of us somewhat older members were involved with the 1992 event and are still currently out in 2019, so thank you one and all for supporting whether your involvement has been for 1 or for 27 years, either by organising to keep it going, or marshalling to help on the night or competing, all in his memory.

Mick Ingamells Trial – 3rd March 2019

Results from today’s event, we hope you all had a great day.

Boilermakers Trial

Thank you to all of the observers who stood out in todays conditions.

We hope you all had a good day.

Our next trial is 3rd March at Cockthorn Farm.

Chris Smith 12 Car

The 27th CHRIS SMITH MEMORIAL charity 12 car on the 9 January attracted 9 entries with 8 starters and 7 crews finishing.
Congratulations to the winners Colin Ladley/Bethan Blythe who were declared winners on a furthest cleanest tie decider from Dave Broadley/Herman Ruijsenaars both on 9 minutes.
Also well done to Frank Ash/John Barber in 3rd place and being the first LMC&CC crew members win the Chris Smith Memorial Trophy.
Thank you to the usual band of marshals on a cold and icy Wolds evening and thanks to Ian and Nicky Faulkner for organising.
And most important we raised £130 from competitors and marshals for donation to ST BARNABAS HOSPICE in memory of our late member Chris.

The next event is THE P G HOWSON CUP on Wednesday 13 March organised by Aggie Foster & Steve Hall
